On the Thai island of Koh Lipe, the holistic circular and educational project LipeLoop has set its sights high: to create a plastic-free model island that serves as an international example. With a focus on creative reusable systems, recycling designs, digital tools, and strong community involvement, LipeLoop aims to establish a functional ecosystem to combat waste.

The project brings environmental protection to life through visibility and experience, using innovative concepts like GlowCups, GlowReefs, CleanUps, and educational programs. Sustainability and design go hand in hand, powered by a passionate community.

LipeLoop’s diverse modules include glowing reusable cups and bowls made from recycled materials, a return and cleaning system in cooperation with local partners—complete with a reward system—reef art made from upcycled materials, drinking water stations as an alternative to plastic bottles, a digital LoopMap & app, a donation tree with immersive sound experiences and personal messages, and reusable bags made from recycled materials.

LipeLoop reaches a wide range of audiences, including tourists and diving enthusiasts, families and eco-conscious individuals, local restaurants, boat operators and shops, as well as eco-travelers and sustainability communities from around the world.
